The Wall Walk

There are 4 parts to this course:

  • An origin story and video of me speaking. This part has a link to a downloadable notebook in the style of a photograph album that you can use to take notes
  • A virtual gallery of some of the women I mention in my speech. Finding information about them can be hard so I’ve done it for you. Each image has 1 or sometimes 2 resources linked to it. Those resources are a mix of websites, videos, book chapters / entries, or journal articles
  • A game of Ko Wai Au? (Who Am I?) where you guess the identity of the woman described in a series of clues
  • A post-script and additional sources of inspiration

If you watch the video of me speaking but only skim over the rest of the contents, then this course will probably take you 45 minutes. But if you pore over all of the resources in depth it could take you hours. There’s no rush. You can visit this webpage as often as you like, picking up where you left off. The course is free but please consider giving a koha to a local Māori Midwifery Service, Teen Parent Unit, the Māori Women’s Welfare League or similar service that supports wāhine.
