If we collect your personal information, we will only use it for the purpose in which it was provided as permitted by the Privacy Act 2020 or otherwise required or permitted by law.

We will keep any personal information you provide to us secure and will not disclose it to any other parties without your prior consent or as required or permitted by the Privacy Act 2020 or otherwise required or permitted by law. In the event of unauthorised or accidental access or disclosure we will notify the Privacy Commissioner and any persons affected by a notifiable privacy breach.

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. Please email us to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected.

This privacy policy was last updated on 1 May 2023. Our privacy policy may change from time to time. If we make any material changes to our policies, we will place a prominent notice on our website. If the change materially affects login holders, we will send a notice to you by email.

Collection of your “personal information”

We collect three (3) types of information:

  1. Personal information that you provide directly to us when you purchase an On Demand Login to access the OnDemand course(s) or request a Wall Walker Login to access the online training materials to become a Wall Walker or through a form based on a specific request or purpose;
  2. Data collected automatically such as tracking information, IP addresses or other data related to use of our site;
  3. Cookies – they provide a mechanism for us to understand how you use the site over time so that we can provide you the best user experience according to your preferences.

We use various technologies such as Google Analytics to help manage our offerings, track the use of the content we provide, understand how our audiences are using our site – all to improve user experience.

The technologies we use across our site include the list below.

  • standard web analytics information
  • aggregated data about OnDemand course content click-through rates and viewing
  • data collected through HTML cookies, flash cookies, web beacons and similar technologies
  • data on view counts and search functionality

We do not sell this information to any third party but may provide information to contractors that assist us in updating, managing or maintaining our websites and bookings.

We may collect non-personal information about the computer, mobile device or other device you use to access our site, such as IP address, geolocation information, unique device identifiers, browser type, browser language and other preferences automatically collected.

We absolutely will not commercialise your personal data.

We do collect identifiable personal information when creating a Login, and we use all practicable endeavours to safely manage, store and process your account information, including your name and email address. No personal payment information is collected by us, as it is only provided directly to the STRIPE® e-commerce platform and XERO® accounting software provider. We do not collect, process or store any identifiable personal information from casual browsers of our site (that is, non-login users).

Steps we take to protect your privacy

To protect and prevent unauthorised access to your personal information, maintain data accuracy, prevent accidental loss, destruction, damage or theft of data, we implement and maintain security and organisational measures with commercially reasonable controls. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. However we ensure that we do not hold or store the personal information you provide to us for any longer than necessary for you to learn with us.

Changes to this privacy policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. When the policy is updated, the version date will appear at the top of this privacy policy. If we make material changes, you will be notified here for a period of 30 – 60 days based on our last update.

Deactivating your Login and Managing Privacy Settings

You can request that your Login be deactivated at any time by contacting us. When your Login is deactivated, your user profile and all public activities (such as free text answers to questions in the OnDemand course(s)) will be hidden. For any other changes regarding your personal data, please contact us via simone@thewallwalk.co.nz with your request and we will respond to you promptly.

During the course you will not be asked to upload any information. Quizzes will be saved in the system while you are doing the course. No-one will be able to see your progress or your answers, nor will you be able to see anyone else’s. There are no chat functions.
